Lutronic Clarity II Smart Laser
Description
Lutronic Clarity II Smart Laser is a dual-wavelength Alexandrite Nd: YAG laser (755/1064 nm) to safely and effectively treat conditions such as unwanted hair, pigmented and vascular lesions on all phototypes. Clarity II™ is a versatile, multi-talented laser recommended for all phototypes. Fair skin with dark hair? The practitioner will opt for Alexandrite. Matte or black skin? It’s the Nd YAG treatment they will turn to. But what makes Clarity II™ so different from the others? This latest generation laser provides higher pulse energy and power than other lasers. Its advantage lies in the innovation of the handpiece. Modular, with a wide range of spot sizes, it can treat both small and large areas with unparalleled efficiency. Even when a very large handpiece is used, it does not lose effectiveness. As a result, the patient spends less time in the chair and can leave the session more quickly. What’s new? One can indulge in Clarity II™, winter or summer, even with tanned skin.
How does Lutronic Clarity II Smart Laser work?
Hair removal lasers target melanin, a component which gives a dark colour to hair. When the energy of lasers is absorbed by the brown or black hair, the heat created damages the hair follicles. A hair follicle is the part of skin which grows hair. Damage to the follicle inhibits hair growth. Hair rooted in follicle can be damaged by lasers only during the anagen growth phase. Due to this, only a portion of hairs can be removed permanently in one laser treatment session. With additional sessions, hair can be targeted efficiently and one can see visible results.
What is a hair growth cycle and how does it work?
Under normal circumstances, hair growth cycle comprises of three main phases: anagen, catagen and telogen.
Anagen: In this phase, hair is rooted in the follicle and contains quite of a lot of melanin. Laser treatment is most effective in this phase.
Catagen: Catagen is the phase when the lower part of the hair stops growing but does not shed and the follicle shrinks.
Telogen: Telogen is the last part of the growth cycle. It is a phrase when old hair falls out and begins preparation for the anagen phase again.
Do I need to grow my hair for the treatment?
NO. You need to stop waxing, tweezing or using any means that pulls the hair out by the root for a month prior to the treatment.
Try to avoid the sun and tanning beds and wear a minimum SPF for 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
How many treatments are needed?
Most people need a minimum of 6-8 treatments but there are exceptions to this rule. Some may require maintenance.
