Olympus Sonic 1200S Ultrasonic cleaner Flaw Detector With customer-interchangeable screens, the Sonic 1200S+ weighs less than 4 pounds (1.8 kg) and provides exceptional ultrasonic resolution for consumers. The highest level of flexibility and convenience is offered by the availability of a color or monochrome LCD for bright outdoor or indoor environments, or a Hi-Brite Electroluminescent (EL) display for normal to dark environments. With its sturdy, well-designed housing, simple front panel, SmartKnobTM, and integrated PowerLinkTM technology, this hand-held, portable ultrasonic defect detector is genuinely revolutionary and incredibly user-friendly.

You have the option of using a single lithium ion battery or an optional D-Cell battery pack to power the Sonic 1200S+. With a storage limit of 5,000 measures and 100 A-scans, the Sonic 1200S+ comes complete with DAC, data recording, and a plethora of other features. Printing and bi-directional communication are made possible by an RS-232 port.

The FlawMasterTM Windows-based program offers a simple-to-use interface for connecting PCs and the Sonic 1200S+. A PC can be used to evaluate, archive, upload, and download A-scans, instrument settings, thickness readings, and report contents.
Applications needing high resolution, including assessing the thickness of thin materials, were the inspiration behind the creation of the High Resolution (HR) option. The HR option can measure steel down to 0.005 inches (0.127 mm) with to improvements including a square wave pulser with width control up to 15 ns, a 15 MHz narrow band receiver setting, and improved signal processing.
